Hayley Eichenbaum is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. She studied for several years at the San Francisco Art Institute before completing her BFA at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.
An investigational attitude and elasticity among mediums comprise the bedrock of Eichenbaum’s practice. The work careens through the potentials of sculpture, time-based media, live performance, and photography. For the past three years Eichenbaum has documented her cross-country travels, resulting in The Mother Road series, which focuses primarily on the maintained remnants of the American Southwest.
Eichenbaum examines notions of the façade. How does one preserve romance that is on the verge of decay? Eichenbaum aims to capture these hopeful circumstances, both within the architectural realm and the human body.
